Updated on January 21, 2015

Easter Activities for Kids, Adults and Everyone

There are plenty of things that you can do this year to keep your family happy, entertained and loving their vacation time. Don't let the cool weather keep you inside and watching TV or sleeping off that big turkey dinner, but get active as a family and you'll find that everyone is much happier.

There are always the traditional things to do like Easter Egg Decorating or an Easter Egg Hunt, which your kids are sure to love and enjoy. But, there are also lots of fun, outside games such as egg rolling, egg and spoon relays or egg bowling you can do to wear off some of that Easter ham and turkey. And, this site also has suggestions for fun and simple Easter Crafts as well as printable Easter coloring pages. These activities are the perfect chance to have some quality family time and make some lasting memories while doing these fun Easter activities.

Easter Egg Rolling, White-House Style

Make sure you celebrate Easter the way that they do it at the White House in Washington, DC! This game is played by the kids (and maybe adults too!) on Easter Monday on the South Lawn.

It's really simple to organize and play. First, find a big hill and get some different colored Easter Eggs. Roll the eggs down the hill, keeping track of which colored egg is yours and the first one to reach the base of the hill is the winner. Have some wooden spoons or something of that nature to speed them along if the hill you are using isn't that steep. Simple and fun and even the youngest kids have a chance to win.

Of course you should have a prize for the winner such as some Easter Candy.

Egg and Spoon Race

This is a classic relay race game played with eggs and spoons that can be played all year-round, but it's perfect to do at Easter with your family. The team or individual has to get their egg, balanced on the spoon from start to finish without breaking it. You can make it more difficult by placing obstacles along the path, such as pylons that you have to go around, or tables that you have to climb over.

Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt

Maybe you think the regular Easter Egg hunt is too easy? Or your kids are too old and don't want to do it anymore? Make it harder and more exciting with a bit of a twist on the traditional Easter Egg Hunt because it's done at night or with all the curtains drawn in your house. Use your night vision, or you can add to the fun by using flashlights to search for the eggs.

Easter Egg Bowling

Color some boiled eggs using dye easily found in any store that carries Easter candy or crafts and leave one of them white. Place it in the center of your room or yard. Everyone can "bowl" their egg and see who gets closest to the white one. If you're played Bocchi Ball, you'll know how to play this game. You can play 10 rounds, just like a real bowling game and keep track of the scores.
