Help the World For Free

Updated on September 11, 2014

It can be easy and free to help the world!

There are lots of websites out there where you can click each day and it will help the world. The sponsors of the site give a certain amount of money toward a cause for each visit. And some of them like Free Rice are fun and educational as well. Or, if you're interested in microfinance, you can check out Kiva, the most reliable lending site one around. Help an entrepreneur in the third world. You can even follow along with their progress.

Free Rice

Free Rice is a popular site where you answer questions to earn 10 grains of rice for each correct answer. Sometimes, a company sponsors the site and matches your donation, so you can earn double. You can choose various categories including English grammar and vocab, math, languages, and geography. It's very interesting to see their totals year by year. I use this is a fun game with my ESL Students and they seem to love it.

Be warned: this site is addictive!

The Rainforest Site

Help Protect the rainforest with The Rainforest Site. You can click once/day and each time you do, sponsors of the site donate enough money to protect 11.4 square feet of rainforest. The amount of land they have protected in just over 10 years is phenomenal. Set it as your homepage and don't forget to click everyday.

Have you loaned with Kiva yet?

Good Search

Good Search is a site where you earn some money for your favorite charity or school every time you search. Current rates are 1 cent/search. It's powered by Yahoo, so the results are relevant and should be what you're looking for. They also have a store where you can buy coupons to save money for everyday things that you use. It's so easy to help the world for free!

My charity of choice that I search for is Sea Shepherd. They are a conservation group that is willing to take action to protect marine animals.
